Your filler aftercare sheet — what are you actually telling patients?

Standardising my aftercare. What's on your sheet, and how are you safety-netting for the serious stuff?

Standard aftercare we give: • No make-up over the area for ~4–8 hours. • No alcohol for ~8 hours. • Avoid touching/rubbing the treated area. • Avoid strenuous exercise for ~24 hours. • Avoid hot environments (sauna, very hot showers) for ~24 hours. • Avoid facials/other treatments over the area for a couple of weeks. The part that matters most is safety-netting: tell them what's normal (some swelling/bruising/tenderness) and what is NOT — increasing or disproportionate pain, blanching or dusky/mottled skin, visual changes, or signs of infection (spreading redness, heat, fever). Give them a direct way to reach you urgently and tell them not to sit on worrying symptoms. Check timings against your product's guidance and your clinic policy.
