Chin is deep depot, high G' gel, ~1–2 ml total as a guide, and it's all about profile and boundaries. Ricketts' aesthetic plane: a line from nose tip to chin used on the lateral profile. As a reference (classically described on a Caucasian face) the lower lip sits ~2 mm behind the line and the upper lip ~4 mm behind — normal variation exists across ethnicities, so use it as a reference, not a rule. Boundaries (this is the key difference): • Female chin: keep the treatment points no wider than a vertical line dropped from the alar crease — you're building a narrower, more tapered chin. • Male chin: points can go wider, up to a vertical line from the mouth corners — a broader, squarer chin. Needle angle and where you place product determine the direction of projection, so plan the shape before you inject. Deep on bone, aspirate, mould gently, and assess the profile as you go.
The alar-crease-width (female) vs mouth-corner-width (male) boundary is such a clean planning rule. Narrow and projected for feminine, wider for masculine.
